Brought to you by Standard Metrics — AI-driven portfolio management
Build your agents. We’ll handle the portfolio data.
Munich Re Ventures’ finance manager wanted to map every co-investor relationship across the portfolio. With clean, structured portfolio data already available through Standard Metrics, the team used Claude to build a network graph in under 10 minutes. Their network graph is one of several tailored workflows the team built in-house on top of Standard Metrics.

How AI Transforms the CFO Function
I'm excited to share another top session from the Virtual DDVC Summit 2026!
Finance teams sit on both sides of the venture table. Operators report to their investors, and investors report to their LPs. For this session, CJ Gustafson, founder of the Mostly Metrics newsletter and the Run the Numbers podcast, brought one CFO from each side together to walk through how AI is changing their people, processes, and systems.
Kunal Agarwal, CFO at $130m+ funded Gorgias and a finance executive with over 20 years of experience across investment banking, private equity, and high-growth software companies.
Jochen Küst, my partner and CFO at Earlybird, a Certified Public Accountant with over 15 years in finance, previously CFO at Aquila Capital and an auditor at KPMG.
Their shared conclusion: AI now takes over much of the repetitive production work in finance, while judgment, storytelling, and deciding what matters stay with the people running it.

Watch if you want to learn:
The hottest AI tools and workflow automations for the CFO office
The two traits that matter once AI fluency is table stakes, and why finance now needs people who like disruption
How Gorgias automated most of its monthly investor update, and the one part the CFO keeps
How a context layer of CRM data and call transcripts reveals why customers churn
How AI pressure tests sales and cash forecasts, and what stays human
Earlybird's six-month check on AI tool accounts, and why expense allocation runs on simple LPA rules
Where AI still falls short: board narratives, auditable fund reports, and pulling numbers from portfolio company reports
... and a lot more
