Don't miss deals

Hi there!

Two weeks ago, we hosted our annual Virtual DDVC Summit with 35 speakers and 500 participants. While many of you joined us live, the numbers of replays kept growing until we closed the event platform few days ago. Some sessions got two, three, or even more replays per person, showing that it’s a deep source of knowledge.

If you missed the opportunity to join live or watch the replays via the event platform, you can join 150+ members in The Lab for unlimited access to recordings of the 2025 Summit, the 2024 Summit, all virtual roundtables, products, templates, AI agents, our community channels, get-togethers, and a lot more.

Be ensured that just the value of the Summit recordings is worth every penny and will save you tangible money & resources otherwise wasted via trial & error.

Join The Lab to access recordings

Different to many other conferences, the whole purpose of our DDVC Summit is to go super deep on specific topics like building a VC Copilot, compliant use of AI tools, hiring and growing tech teams in investment firms, and more.

To get the full value, we highly recommend (re)watching the recordings but…

… if you only have 3 minutes left, here’s the TL;DR of the Virtual DDVC Summit 2025 - Part 3/3

1. Success Factors of Seed Startups (Adam Shuaib from Episode One)

  • Founders who previously worked at *any* startup (not just FAANG) have a statistically significant advantage in raising Series A/B.

  • Having co-founders who worked together *previously* boosts Series A/B fundraising success by 50%.

  • "Agreeableness" and low "Neuroticism" in founders (assessed via text analysis) are strong positive predictors of early fundraising success.

  • Dropping out of a top tier university is not a success predictor.

2. The Psychology of Technology Startups (Prof Sandra Matz from Columbia University)

  • Successful startups exhibit a *collective* personality shift over time, becoming more conscientious, extroverted, and agreeable – mirroring individual maturation.

  • This "organizational personality" change is driven primarily by *hiring*, not just founder traits, and is linked to higher exit likelihood.

  • LLMs (like ChatGPT) can provide surprisingly accurate Big Five personality assessments from text data, enabling scalable analysis without questionnaires.

  • The predictive ability of conscientiousness appears to flip later-stage, suggesting the need for more adaptable leadership traits.
